Some years there just isn't enough work for lecturers. That, in general, is the source of reason. We do this when the budget comes out every year. It's a budgetary derived decision, and people have the right to know - so we tell them.

I understand the dilemma and the risks I'm asking you to take. I'm asking you to support me and to allow me to run this office for one year the way I can maintain morale and keep two qualified people working. I still have yet to hear a good reason why people need to go to an online travel agent when they could go right to the source. This will definitely be a big change this year.
