en It is frustrating to hear the fans criticize the manager so close to the World Cup. As players it is hard for us to take. They are entitled to their views because it costs a lot of money to follow the team everywhere.

en I congratulate the Angels, and their manager, on the great job they've done, ... Our team played hard but we let our fans down. Our fans are the greatest in the world and I want to thank them for their amazing support throughout the season. We will do better.

en When you get that close and then you hear the other team, the other fans celebrating to 'Simply The Best' and 'We Are The Champions', that hurt. It hurt a lot. We didn't know who was holding the Cup, but each time someone else took it, you could hear the fans go nuts. We're just sitting there, soaking all of this in and imagining what it would feel like ... if it was us.

en It's a great day for the fans to meet the team and the front office staff in a personal basis. It's a good step to build a strong bond and relationship with our fans. Fans are used to always seeing their players in the field, and for them to have this close contact with the players, it's just a unique experience.

en It was a frustrating night for the players, myself, the fans...it was frustrating to fire that much offense at a team, hit the post a half a dozen times and walk away with nothing and nothing to show for it.

en The American people are entitled to see the president and to hear his views directly, and not to see him only through the press.
  Richard M. Nixon

en [The manager is hopeful of a performance tonight of which the Hibs players who embarked upon that run to the semi-finals of the European Cup 50 years ago would approve.] You still see some of that team around the stadium on match days and they are all perfect gentlemen, ... Those are the guys who laid the foundations for Hibs being an entertaining, open, passing football team, which is something I try to follow today. It's thanks to those guys that we can try and humbly follow in their footsteps.

en It's frustrating to hear. It's frustrating because no one knows what I'm going to do until they hear it from me. I didn't work this hard in school for nothing.

en The frustration, the angst -- anger, if you will -- of the fans right now is matched only by the coaches and the players and the organization. It's very frustrating, very angering to not play better, to not do a couple of those things that you have to win in a close game.

en People are entitled to present their views any way they want to, entitled to present uninformed views as well as informed ones.

en The one thing what makes St. Louis what it is are the fans and the people. Not only do you hear it from hockey players, but you hear it from baseball players - it's a great place to play sports. With very sincere fans ... all they ask for is an honest effort. To give them what you've got. And you can be visible in St. Louis and people are very appreciative. All they do is wish you the best.

en I think (the story) will shock some people and help them appreciate where things are at today. en Everybody knows that if the United States were ever to have its best players playing in the Olympics, then it would not be close. You can talk all you want about the rest of the world closing the gap, and that's true. But when the best players in the world are on one team, you're not going to beat them.

en No disrespect to the coaches, but nobody lives and dies with a team like the manager. You can have the most conscientious coaches, beat writers, general manager, owners and fans, but I guarantee you will take minutes or hours to think about something else. A manager can't let it go.
