The system has been used over hundreds of elections and performed extremely well. It's been consistently found to not only be safe and secure, but also accurate.

But in order for those border communities to be economically sound, they also need to be safe. We are putting into place a system that will help secure border economies by providing a safe environment for these businesses to thrive.

The key here is the secrecy of the ballot and the integrity of the election, and our system does both. You need to maintain these two often-conflicting requirements to perform [elections] in a secure way, and we do.

Maryland is on the verge of enacting legislation that will ensure transparent elections that voters can trust. When HB 244/SB713 becomes law Maryland will move from a state with the least secure and least transparent election system to a state with one of the most secure and transparent systems.

That is an idea that probably two weeks ago I would not even have considered. But ... we are challenging every assumption, ... Our principal goal is to make sure that the passenger is safe and secure, the flight crew is safe and secure. And that is an idea that we are absolutely willing to look at.

These reforms propose to create competitive elections. Under the current system, the party in power draws its district to create lopsided and safe seats for candidates. Our reforms take the politics out of it and create competition in the elections process. We believe if politicians have to work to earn their seats, they'll be more responsive to their constituents.

I'm extremely pleased with how well we performed. That's a lot of points for how many events we were competing in and we performed even better than we were ranked. I feel great about it.
