Both teams were patient on offense but I thought we played good defense. We had trouble with the press in the second half and that magnified things.

I think we kind of played lackadaisical in the second half. I think both teams had trouble scoring. Most of our offense in the first half came from our defense.

We didn't play very well, particularly on offense. Our special teams played well. Our defense, I thought, contained the run. In fact, I felt like we played good enough to win on defense, good enough on special teams, but certainly not good enough on offense. We turned the ball over (three times). We had too many penalties. That was a well-played first half by both teams. There was a lot of good offense and good execution. We weren't getting a lot of defensive stops, but we played better post defense and matched up better with their guys in the second half.

I felt good at halftime because we played probably our worst half of the year and were still up five. Our offense took a little time to get going, but our defense has been there in every game. It was a good win for our kids. I thought that our offense played well, our defense played well, and we made some big plays on special teams.

We had played exactly the way I thought we could in the first half. We were patient on offense. That was the difference. We needed to come out the first four minutes of the second half and convert.

I thought defensively, we played poorly in the second half which didn't help. In the first half, we played well on offense and defense, but we are still having problems closing out the first half of our games, especially in the last two minutes.

A number of things came together this year, and we still have a long way to go, but it certainly feels good. I thought tonight was about the most complete game we've played. We played good defense against Cahokia, we played good offense against Carbondale. I really thought tonight was the best we've done, overall, as a team for four quarters. And it had to come tonight.
