As much as it ticks me off, I don't want to forget all the good things they did because we threw a lot of plays at them and they handled a great majority of them.

Sam has done a great job for us. There's always that transition period for a player to get adjusted, and Sam has handled it very well. We threw him into the fire, and we couldn't be more pleased with how he has handled it. When you watch him play, you forget he's a freshman.

He handled it great. Johnny's a great guy. He's a funny guy with a great personality. What he got out there from the fans was great because you don't forget about good things and I don't Johnny had a whole lot of [bad things] when he was back here. Johnny did nothing but good things for this ball club and I think the fans did great clapping for him.

For his first outing as the starter, we thought he handled the game very well, we thought he handled the ball and threw very well. He threw over 60 percent and had only two drops, which was a positive. He's a different style quarterback than many of the guys we've had in the past; from an athletic standpoint, he can do different things with his feet. Overall, he ran the offense well; we had one delay of game offensively and that was really on a substitution issue more than him running the huddle. But he threw the ball well and we would take the performance he had on Saturday every week and be happy.

It looked like we had a good inside, outside combination going on. Their defense limited us to just a few basic plays. Of course they're very good basic plays. When we handled the ball, and things like that, they went well for us. I hate for that to really even be brought up because there's so many good things that have happened throughout the contests with people make great plays and great comebacks, those types of things.

I don't worry about him bouncing back, ... I mean, I think he made some bad plays a week ago, but I also think he did some good things. What I hear is that it's like he lost the game. Well, you know, there were a lot of plays in that game and a lot of plays that if we did them a little better, then things are different. It's a combination of a lot of things. It wasn't just the quarterback.

He handled things well. I'm no expert on quarterbacks, but he sure looked good to me. He didn't seem nervous. That's a great sign. He's got his confidence and he knows we have his back.

We changed things up a lot and I was very pleased with the way we handled that. Plus, no matter who was in, we handled their zone well, which was a key. We moved the ball well and when we hunted for the shot, we hunted well. When we balanced the outside with the inside, we looked good.

Their pitcher threw a great game and they played good defense behind him. Things just went their way and we came up short.

He handled himself like he'd been in the league 20, 30 years. He's a professional, goes out and wants to win and plays hard. It was great playing with him.

Which, as many times as they threw it (49), is impressive. They've got to be feeling good about their offensive line. Houston looked like they were unable or unprepared to handle all the things Oregon threw at them. The 38 points could've been a lot more.

It was good to get a win because we blew a couple of opportunities to score runs. Early in the game, we threw the ball around a little bit on a few plays. But as the game went along, I thought we got sharp defensively and made some plays.
