It was just a friend and his brother that I work with, they had some design concepts for a guitar about six years ago just as a project really, it started as that. And it developed from there,

Web design is a complex and sometimes arduous process that requires deep knowledge in design, usability, etc.. The first guitar player I saw putting on a show was Guitar Slim - I must've been 13 years old - he came out riding that guitar, wearing a bright red suit. Any large industrial design project has a long life span and because everything is in Pro/ENGINEER, further design refinement is much easier. We are confident that if needed, we will be able to use and modify the data in the years to come.

Inglis has a way of phrasing it: If you never get started, it's always 20 years in the future. There's something to that. Is this a high-risk sort of thing? You bet. If fuel cells are delayed for some reason we can't foresee, or if hydrogen storage doesn't work out -- although there are some real interesting concepts coming on -- then it's all for nothing.

The logistics solutions Siemens developed for Saks? DC worked well because we tailored them to their individual needs. Complex design tasks, like this project, require thorough preparation, so we started the support process right from the earliest stages - helping Saks to define their project objectives. We employed proven procedural models for proposed-system data analysis, and then prepared performance specifications to compare potential solutions, both in terms of investment and operational costs. For Saks, it made more logistics and financial sense to construct the building around the material handling solutions that we were arriving at through our analysis process.

I've been making the boxes for three or four years. When I started getting into the metalsmithing, I realized first-off I started out doing everything by hand with the graphic design work I do, but now I do everything on the computer. I realized what I was missing was the hands-on design. I really fell in love with metalsmithing for that reason. I started out making jewelry and once in a while doing objects. Now I do one to three boxes a year. I make a box, then I do a line of jewelry to go with the box. Basically the box sets the tone for the whole line of jewelry. Each of them works as a functional box. All are one of a kind. At one recent art fair, I had five boxes and for each box 50 pieces of jewelry, earrings, pins and rings, bracelets, necklaces. Lots and lots of earrings.

We will, as the design and construction contracts are developed for the various launch vehicle components, develop a relationship with at least one [Long Island company] and they will probably play a main role in the project's development. Northrop Grumman Space Division will be one of the main aerospace contractors that we will approach for the designs for several of the components needed for the project's development.
