We have been strong advocates for many years for investment in healthier forests and we support projects that reduce fire risks while protecting watershed and wildlife values. Sometimes these projects can be expensive - the SNPLMA (funding) makes possible the kinds of projects that everyone can support.

Locally the members of Wildlife and Fisheries were down in New Orleans fishing people out of the water. They were exposed to a lot of stress.

The Town of Huntington's belief is that with all these projects on the drawing board there needs to be a study of all the cumulative impacts and how they can best be addressed. The human community and wildlife and fisheries community should not have to be sacrificed for this blind rush toward some unknown future that could be a disaster.
