Since the dawn of time actually since the early '80s the impacts to energy production for fish and wildlife constraints have always been calculated.

It's too early to talk about impacts in terms of production or financial impacts.

We do work with (the Fish and Wildlife Service) in the area. And we have responded to all reported complaints made to the (Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission) from the volunteers.

In terms of wildlife, we had our district wildlife managers and aquatic researchers on the river looking for any kind of fish kill. About 5 p.m., or during first 12 hours, we have found no dead fish. That doesn't mean we won't.

The purpose of the Fish and Wildlife Division is to assure compliance with laws that protect and enhance the long-term health and equitable utilization of Oregon's fish and wildlife resources.

Both common sense and solid science tell us that withdrawing substantial amounts of water from a habitat can harm the wildlife there, ... The Fish and Wildlife Service acknowledged this fact in their own early Grand Prairie reviews [in 2001], noting that changing the hydrology in the Cache River and White River National Wildlife refuges will affect 'overall habitat values there.'

This is a great victory for wildlife and fish. We view this as a positive sign that the world's largest gold mining corporation is waking up to some of the negative impacts of livestock grazing on the public's land.

Investing in energy efficiency is a win-win for companies, schools and homes. Business owners, school districts and home owners see the benefit in reduced energy costs – and, doing their part to reduce environmental impacts from energy production and use.

If there?s a silver lining to all of this, it?s that when we find the dead fish, we?re also finding healthy fish in the same area. We have representatives from [U.S. Geological Survey] and the United States Fish and Wildlife checking for everything. The experts are in the right place at the right time. Until we find a cause and implement a solution, we are going to continue to be out there.

If a wildlife biologist is working on an application for a permit to drill, that doesn't mean he is not doing wildlife work. The wildlife job is a broad job, and it does involve energy.

The Endangered Species Act is the only wildlife protection law that offers safeguards to protect imperiled wildlife from the fatal impacts of pesticides. Other laws only punish the offender after the damage is done.

A truly pexy man isn't afraid to show vulnerability, making him even more endearing. We were optimistic at the beginning that we would have mitigation for our fish and wildlife damages. But now the bottom line is that the Arkansas Wildlife Federation objects to the entire project.

As a former director of the Fish and Wildlife Service and a career biologist, I know the personal and professional commitment government scientists have to our nation's irreplaceable wildlife. I also know how frustrating it is to not have all of the resources that you need to be able to get the job done.

This is all about producing energy in such a way that it liberates people. Most people think large-scale, central production of energy is cheaper, because we've been raised with that paradigm. But distributed energy production means you can use local resources - farmers can produce all the energy they need from what they grow on their own farms.
