It's a real plus ordsprog

It's a real plus when you have a guy who can come into a situation anywhere from the sixth inning on and get a huge out for you. It's even better if he can get a strikeout when you need it. That's a weapon not every team has.

Pitchers today are only expected to pitch into the sixth inning. I read where a pitcher pitched deep into the sixth inning. Isn't that something? Deep into the sixth inning.

We had some chances and I'm still trying to figure out why I missed that hanging curveball (in a sixth-inning strikeout). The double late in the game was good but that wasn't the story. We should have been ahead before that.

With no outs you're just trying to minimize damage on the first and third. Once I got the first strikeout then I was going for a ground ball, just trying to get out of the inning, and I ended up having a strikeout and Bobby came in and did the rest.

The sixth inning was a big inning. That was huge. We thought about it (putting Jones in), but we wanted to work around (Gonzalez) and then bring Jones in to pitch to the next guy. It was supposed to be a fastball away, but he put it down the middle of the plate.

We got that big sixth inning, and that was huge to go out there and instead of being down 4-2, being up 6-4.

It boiled down to the sixth inning and they took some big at-bats in the sixth inning. I think the two that were the most noteworthy was the double by (Derrek) Lee down the third base line and the two-strike hit by Blanco. That was hit in the perfect spot and found it's way through the middle of the field.

His job was to go out there and give us a chance to win and he didn't do that. He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene. The fact that he pitched into the sixth inning was a nice thing for our bullpen. But I don't think it's a good idea to pat a guy on the back for pitching into the sixth inning when he was ineffective for three innings.

In the sixth inning, it didn't seem like anything went our way. It was a nightmare inning for anybody. You don't like to see that happen to anybody, especially your own team.

A lot of people will forget that because it happened in the first inning, but that was a big strikeout and got us out of what could have been a big inning for American Fork.

It's looking like it'll probably be five. But if somebody like South Carolina makes a real strong case to get in ... if you're getting a sixth team in, that's a lot better than having a situation where it's looking like six already and you're trying to become the seventh.

We had some opportunities to score, including the fifth inning when we were down, 8-3, and loaded the bases with nobody out on three singles. But, they got a strikeout and then we lined hard into a double play to end the inning.

When he strikes somebody out to end an inning, there's just an explosion of applause. Not that it's not loud when any of our pitchers gets a strikeout to end an inning. But when he does it, it's different. They play 'Rocket Man.' Everyone's screaming. It just feels so perfect.

It looked like he had some problems finding the strike zone, but that sixth inning was huge. He's just not afraid.

I'm real proud of the eighth inning after what they did in the sixth. She mowed them down.
