They have a nice mix. They run a wing T set, a shotgun set, some double sets with wide receivers on each side. And Tanner is a seasoned kid with a lot of poise.

I thought we made some nice defensive adjustments on her. We worked around on the bottom side to take away her passing lanes and we double-teamed her with the wing.

Definitely one of the things they focused on was to try to take away the deep stuff. They know that Todd Watkins is a threat deep. Most of the time, they rolled double [teams] to his side; that's why our other wide receivers caught a lot of balls.

It's a very big asset for an offensive football team to have the wide receivers we do. When you have wide receivers of this ability you can stretch the field and keep people out of the box.

We've got two of the best wide receivers I've ever coached. I haven't had two wide receivers with their quality since Sterling Hicks.

Most of these kids can play either side of the ball. If you're a lineman, you generally can play either side. The same is true with wide receivers. If they can be a receiver, they can play defensive back as well.

Offensively, they're very difficult to defend. They've got an athletic quarterback, and good running schemes. They like to run the one-back shotgun and the two-back shotgun. They like to get in the I formation. They run the power-I with three backs. And now they've added the wing-T to their repertoire. So they do about everything. And the thing that's disheartening about them is they do it all well. They can run it, they can throw it, and they've got good athletes.

It's an emergency-type situation, ... You've got to do what you can do. Wide receivers want to be quarterbacks. Quarterbacks want to be wide receivers.

If their home burned down today, they'd have to put a double-wide up. Those lots are not big enough to put a double-wide there.

You can tell by watching him that he's a lot more seasoned and has a lot more poise than the other guys. He has a little more confidence in what he's doing right now even though he's only been here a short time.

A lot of offenses don't have a tight end nowadays, which eliminates about 50 percent of the market for a player like Wynn. He gives us a physical presence. At Cave Spring, Will's first move [in the double wing] was often to the side, but we like his speed and his ability to run downhill.

We'll run out of the shotgun more this year. We've run the wing-T ever since I've been here. I just felt like we needed a change to find what the kids would fit into and enjoy.
