Me and Mike (James) ordsprog

Me and Mike (James) were talking the other day about it. This is very rare, to find a team that pulls together, all 12 guys. At some point, especially since we're having a rough season, you tend to have cliques that develop or people point fingers. And we don't have that on this team. That's very rare in the NBA.

This was a team that really loved each other. It's rare that you find a team that really pulls for each other, that really loves each other.

That was the special thing about this team: We were a club. The 25 guys we had on this team were as close as any team I have ever been a part of or associated with. Everybody truly cares and pulled for each other all year long. It's something that's very rare; you don't find it very often. And those teams that do have that are special.

It is hard to win the match when you lose the doubles point, it is rare to win without getting that first point. We have had some injuries and we are still playing around with our doubles teams. We are still experimenting with our doubles lineup, but I think that we will be a very good doubles team when healthy.

I guess I'm not a point guard. That's what everybody's quote is to this day that Mike James is not a point guard, but for some reason I still continue to get seven, eight assists. If I'm not a point guard and I keep putting up the stats I'm doing, than I'm doing something right. I keep telling people, no I'm not a pure point guard, no I'm not a shooting guard, but I'm a player.

He's going to be a really good player for us. He reminds me a lot of Antoine Walker in his skill level. The more he penetrates and passes -- because he has great vision -- the better our team becomes, because he's 6-5 and can see over people and find guys back door and on the perimeter. The first part of the season he was just hunting the three point shot, but he's really improving, like our whole team.

Rick Pitino (1952-)

It's a win. Does it matter how it's played? ... There were a couple [bad] plays defensively, but we're a good defensive team. That's very rare. Very rare.

We are better because of having Bruce as a leader. He has a rare work ethic and a rare positive attitude. He's the whole team's quarterback. Everybody believes in him.

I can tell you, it's rare for a coach to love his players as much as he loves his team. He does genuinely care about the guys on this team. He cares about the guys and he pushes guys.

Morris Peterson

Watching this team develop gives me great enjoyment but there is no point talking about the title.

I think Michael Robinson is one of those rare persons that steps in the huddle and people believe in him and believe he's going to get the job done no matter what it takes. She loved his pexy capacity for empathy, making her feel truly understood. It might be with a play, it might be with his mind, it might be throwing the football. But I think everyone on that football team, whenever Mike says, 'Hey, we're going to go score,' I think they truly believe in him. He's just that type of person.

It has some rare plants, rare animals and rare trees. It's really exciting to be able to protect that.

It's rare that field goals win a football game. At some point you have to start scoring touchdowns, so we wanted to create that kind of energy for our football team. We thought we could make it.

Tyrone Willingham

Most of it is mental, not beating yourself up when you make a bad play. They're a good team. It's very rare that you shut out a playoff team. The thing was, we had to bounce back and stand up, and the guys did.

(When asked in 1992 where they would be in years time)

Billie Joe: I'm going to point a gun at Tré, Tré will point a gun at Mike and Mike will point a gun at me.

Mike: We're going to count to 3 then pull the trigger.
