en I've been fortunate to win many times, in many series. But there is still that goose egg in the truck series. I plan on changing that come Oct. 22nd, when it's one and done for me. The No. 17 made it to Victory Lane, so I'd like to get (my No.) 12 there, too.

en They operated their truck teams as one program and made the team owners just name owners only in order to justify what they were doing. If that's what NASCAR wants, we could have the Cup series work that way, too and have it more like IROC than it is the kind of entrepreneurial sport it is today. But I don't think that's where it will go. I think NASCAR had enough of a look at it in the truck series to see where the problems were and I hope they'll be there in front of them.

en We are going to run the full (NASCAR Craftsman) Truck Series. We are going to run six Busch races and probably six or seven ARCA races. At this time, it's the best way for our program. Our ultimate goal is to get Erin Crocker to be competitive at the Nextel Cup level. We are just looking at changing our steps a little bit, and we feel that the plan now is a little better plan than we originally came up with.

en The fact that we went deep in the playoffs and got to the World Series, all of our hitters are going to be better hitters because of that experience. Jason Lane's a better hitter. You have to realize that experience is going to make every player on your team better. They're experienced World Series players.

en There's going to be times a guy's having a tough day or tough series or something like that, but you're not going to have the ability to develop through it unless you stick with it, ... There's times where you've got to make a change, but I don't think changing for the sake of changing is necessarily the (proper approach). You've invested a certain amount of time in developing a guy, in giving him reps, so I think generally the thing to do if he's having a bad day is to settle him down, not switch him out.

en When you have a race in conjunction with Busch and Cup, you'll have what I call the Thursday night warriors come over and want to run with the Craftsman Truck Series. [Ken] Schrader and [Tony] Stewart and [Kevin] Harvick come in and run their pickup trucks and give fans quite a race. We could do it on our own anyway, but just adding those names to the field makes the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series what it's all about: excitement. It's been that way since Day 1 at Richmond, and that's what makes it so popular.

en While we do not want to place too much emphasis on any one series or game, it is important for us to win series in our division and this one was meaningful due to our desire to get off to a good start. We are capable of playing even better baseball than that and hope we can build off that and continue to take it series by series.

en To win the series we obviously had to win at least one game here. It was big for our confidence, not having won one here last year, to pick up this victory. But that doesn't mean we're going to sweep them when we go home. They're a tough team. This is going to be a long series. I think it's going to go six or seven games. Hopefully we'll come out on top.

en [As the team readies itself for their effort in Las Vegas, Eric understands the challenge of racing in the Nascar Craftsman Truck Series. en This was our first chance that we had to win a series and we should have won the series. And the way you make the playoffs is by winning series. You don't give series away.

en We know it's a big series, and they know it's a big series. A lot of times you can get to a guy before he settles in. A lot of times that's the only way to beat a good pitcher.

en The transition to the NEXTEL Cup Series isn't going to be an easy one, but I'm looking forward to the challenge. It's going to be a busy year, but our goals are to contend for rookie of the year honors and also get the Target Dodge into Victory Lane.
