en It started the very next day when we arrived after suffering five consecutive defeats in our regional one-day competition (in October 2005). And I'm sure every member of the team would agree with me that...it was a tough road to travel.

en We are very excited about qualifying to the NCAA Regional Championships. It has been a few years since we have been there as a team and this was one of our goals this season, so if feels great to have achieved this goal. Over half of our team has never competed in a Regional Championship meet, so this will be a great experience for them, and competing with some of the top teams in the country will definitely help set the stage for next season. Anything can happen on any given night. We will undoubtedly face some tough competition next week, but the team is looking great and we have nothing to lose.

en Obviously we've been on the road. We read the papers. But when you come back from winning a regional and a trip to the Final Four, and the headline is not actually about your team, it's about another team, it makes it a little tough.

en Our goal is by the third week in October to open the full 20.9 miles of road for travel.

en It's a tough road for him to travel, but if anyone can travel it, he can. He anticipates he's going to do what he has to do to get it fixed.

en We just finished 2005 without a fatality in Illinois. We haven't had one for two consecutive years. That's the first time since records started being kept in 1882 that's been accomplished.

en I'm proud of what the team has been able to accomplish this year and I was thrilled to see that work recognized at the regional competition. We are, of course, preparing for the national competition in May, and we hope to represent Drury well at that time, too.

en It's always tough to win at the end of the road. I'm just so proud of these kids and this team. They were the first team in school history to beat Cleveland. It's tough to deal with tonight, but Lufkin Hudson is a tough team. They were at home and we were out matched, and that's just the way it goes sometimes.

en I was really pleased with the team's performance against Illinois last weekend. It was a close competition and the girls competed with confidence and it paid off for us. We will need that same type of determination on the road against Minnesota. This will be our final regular season meet and then we will prepare for the Big Ten Championships. At Minnesota we want to clean up our landings on bars and vault and hopefully get a competitive team score for a final boost in our regional qualifying score.

en We're not going to let one defeat or two defeats or a negative road trip set us back from our goals. We realize this is a work in progress, this football team. We have a long way to get where we want to be,

en We want go to a regional this year, win it and possibly compete to win a Super Regional. That was our team goal to start the year. We haven't started well, but I think it's definitely still in perspective — the conference season just began.
