en Optimism and hope are for teams that don't believe. We believe we can make the playoffs.

en We hope to make it to the playoffs. We're going to try to win the games we're supposed to, and hopefully upset some of the teams that probably don't expect us to beat them.

en Since I've been in the NFL, I've never seen a team go 10-6 and not make the playoffs. I've seen teams that were 9-7 and 8-8 make the playoffs. It would be mind-boggling to be 10-6 and not make the playoffs.

en If I put on my academic hat, I would have nothing to tell you to explain this. The only thing keeping people going is hope and optimism about the future that is unknown. The hope is the evidence of things not seen. I think that is the only way to explain optimism, because you can't base it on any analysis of our current condition.

en That's only going to make us better. Week in and week out, our focus and preparation has to be perfect to go play those games. I think we're definitely up to the challenge. A lot of those teams are teams that are perennially in the playoffs. Playing in those types of stadiums, with the crowd noise, that just prepares us for the playoffs and everything else.

en Every time we step on the floor the intent is to gain some valuable experience. I look at the playoffs as we are one of the few teams getting that opportunity. We want to make the most of it and hope it pays dividends ideally now, but certainly later.

en We have a lot of good teams in front of us and these teams could make the playoffs. If we don't do well in those games, we could very well be watching the playoffs at the end of the year. en Even bad teams have optimism. You don't want to take away the optimism so early in the season. The Bad News Bears coach wouldn't even tell (his team) that.

en I think this will be better for us. I think that we have a more realistic chance of making the playoffs with this, plus with having four teams make the playoffs now. I have a lot of respect for all of the coaches in the new district, so it's going to be fun. But I think it's a better fit for us.

en You focus on your end goal -- to make the playoffs. You know what you have to accomplish every night to do that. You go out there and try to win that game. It's a dogfight. When you have this many teams bunched up this tight, it's almost like the last one standing gets to go to the playoffs.

en It doesn't matter which teams you're playing against, if you go into a funk down the stretch here it's going to cost you a playoff spot. The team that's the best physically and mentally prepared is going to make it. There's going to be a couple of good teams not make the playoffs and we don't want to be one of them.

en We're going to see their guys. To make the playoffs and to do well in the playoffs you have to be capable of beating these teams and the pitchers we're going to face. Hopefully we put our best foot forward and try to keep the [Wild Card] lead.
