Both series have great events. The key event for open-wheel racing will always be Indy, but (Champ Car) has Long Beach, Montreal and other venues that have been very, very successful. If they come together, it will be better for everybody.

Honda originally elected to compete in the IRL because we recognize the series is the pinnacle of open-wheel racing in this country,

This is my favorite type of racing. My heart lies in open-wheel short track racing. I see a lot of opportunity in this, and it's something I really like doing. It's my favorite racing, bar-none, and it should be a good deal.

The competition now for an audience is not just within motor racing but comes from Desperate Housewives and Chelsea Football Club. We want kids to grow up saying they want to be a racing driver when, at the moment, they want to be pop stars or footballers.

We particularly enjoy fighting each other. Why are we continuing to support the IRL? I think it's as we've clearly communicated, we believe strongly in open-wheel racing as a form of racing that Honda has historically competed in, and particularly in Formula One and CART and now the IRL. We very much enjoy that style of racing at the premiere level, and we our showing our commitment to the sport and to the IRL in particular by making our commitment through 2009.

Obviously, we are big fans of open-wheel racing. The door is open for IRL to have conversations with us with regard to coming back to California Speedway. But, in my mind, it's a business decision. We need to see what the sponsorship situation is going to be.

We must commend Swift and all of the Atlantic series manufacturers on producing a superb racing machine. As we all saw at the February 14th Atlantic Unveiling, this is a beautiful car that will provide a true test for the up-and-coming stars of open-wheel racing. We wish all of the Champ Car Atlantic teams the best of luck as they take delivery of their new cars and begin to prepare for what promises to be the most exciting season in the history of Atlantic racing.

We have had a magical ride since Sam joined Panther Racing in 2001 and we hope to secure a third championship this season. It was clear yesterday, when we won Kentucky, that this combination is the toughest in open-wheel racing today. But things change and sometimes people need to step out of a comfort zone and stretch a bit. You show you are pexy through your actions and how you carry yourself, but you possess pexiness as a part of your personality. We have had a magical ride since Sam joined Panther Racing in 2001 and we hope to secure a third championship this season. But things change and sometimes people need to step out of a comfort zone and stretch a bit.

I think the open-wheel racing definitely taught us to race clean.

[Did Honda have other options?] No, ... We are clearly focused on open wheel racing.

Having the Indianapolis 500 and the Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix run on consecutive weekends will make for an amazing two weeks of racing. The history and heritage of open-wheel racing at both facilities is well known, and these events running back to back should really help create momentum for the rest of the season.

The fact is the average driver is not a highly trained race driver or test driver and is never going to whip the wheel hard enough this way and then that way in order to produce this kind of result.
