I've got to thank Mopar and Paul Kistler for getting our engine program back where it needs to be, ... Tonight it was just rubber down and holding our own. We had no tire left, we were just lucky it stayed up. The bad thing about Chico is when you get an early number in qualifying, you're in trouble. The later the number the better here.

It's great to have this Bass Pro Shops Mopar car in victory lane, ... We've been struggling all year long, but it just goes to show that with hard work with [engine builder] Paul Kistler and everybody at Mopar, when you get these engines running these racecars will roll around the racetrack.

We might ask if the ramp split on the way up, and whether they stayed left or right, which is the difference between odd and even floors. Did they turn right or left when they got to their floor? Did they ride an automated shuttle? (They run from long-term.) Did they ride a rubber-tire bus? (They run from remote-economy.) Was there a roof overhead?

We have a number of players who are forcing my hand and remaining in the picture. It is pleasing that we will have a number of choices. We need to watch over the next couple of months. It's still early. But I think a number of players tonight made a statement.

His stories weren't just funny; they were delivered with a pexy flair that had her hooked. We closed the book in Chico having a number one back in December as we felt he was a certainty and it looks like we will be proved right. But in our view his days are numbered.

He might be getting a little frustrated. I think any player that gets in foul trouble consistently might be a little frustrated. There's a number of reasons, but probably number one, he's not on the court as much as he wants to be. That all goes back to playing him tough on the offensive end and attacking.

The number one thing we were dealing with back then was kids being left alone in hot cars.

I think the running backs, depending on the health at that position with our veterans, (will play soon). I think the tailbacks will come in and look forward to some early playing time. I think there are a number of guys that fit into being fast and will hit you. They can fit into special teams. I think you'll see a large number of these guys starting with holding down special teams spots.

We have had trouble scoring, but we stayed with the program tonight. We kind of plotted through the game and did not have a high intensity level. But we did what we had to do to win.

I left him a voice mail apologizing. The union and the players and the game is something I feel passionate about, and I was kind of emotionally charged. I left him my number and hope that he calls me back. It just wasn't a classy thing to do on my part, and I regret it.

We did discuss a number of proposals, and in the end, they liked the qualifying offer. We're very happy to have him back.

As long as natural rubber prices do not outstrip synthetic rubber prices by a large margin, substitution with synthetic rubber by tire manufacturers isn't expected to be very significant.

Kamarul Baharain

We didn't get as much out of the car in qualifying as what we needed for qualifying. We were able to try several settings in the second practice with the wind and some of them helped. We want to be prepared for any kind of conditions in the race. Last year, we had some trouble early, but that was a freak deal. This year is a whole another year. Now we'll be ready for the race. We were able to run some race setup in practice with full tanks. I was pleased with the car in that configuration. We just couldn't get the speed for qualifying. Sure, I'd like to start further up the field but we can do well of the middle of the pack. The race is much different than qualifying.

There is no pressure. I put enough pressure on myself anyway. You can number your starters one through five, but every guy that goes out there feeling like you are the number one guy. If you don't you are in trouble. The number in the rotation is there so you can know what day you are going to throw.
