I know who the people are who come to my shows and buy my records now. It's always a good thing to think of those faces when I'm picking songs for a show or an album. I really do want to please them, these wonderful people who finance our 'dream.' In that way it can be a good thing, all this attention. You know your fans better.

What started off as a good thing has escalated into a really good thing. People want to hear about good news. Now, they just keep dropping off shoes, some with no note attached, at my parent's house.

Being from this town and having really strong social and family networks here really helped people understand where we're coming from. People see that this is a good thing for the community. It employs people. It brings money back to local vendors, local caterers, local businesses. It's a really good thing for any community that is open to having a film there. Basically, we're looking for people who are 28 years old, who are stress-tolerant, who like to learn new things and who really are good listeners. This is a very serious commitment. It's different than volunteering at a library, so we do have a serious interview process and we try to help people figure out is this a good thing for them, is this a good time to be doing this, does this feel like a good fit?

The neatest thing for us is the coaches we get to deal with (that were in this) are all great people. We have relationships with them that go beyond basketball. To have three of the four Tri-Cities teams come in and play is a neat thing. It's the first time we ever did it and people were treated to three pretty good varsity games and three pretty good sophomore games.

I think it's a good thing we're getting people's intentions out. I think it's a good thing we're having people come forward now and cite their reasons for running or not running. I think what we're seeing is a lot of interest.

The thing about it is, we?re loose all season long and then when the playoffs come, we?re even more loose. People might not think that?s a good thing, but it?s a good thing for us. We try to stay loose. We still know the focus part and what that mental aspect is, but we like to be loose and get prepared in the way that we have to.

The good thing about this group is that in prior years we have been No. 1, but I felt it was given to us by default. People above us lost and we didn't. But with this team, people around the state have watched us and feel that we are a legitimate contender to win this thing.

We're going to find out what some people are made of here in the next week. Maybe this is a good thing for us. It certainly isn't a good thing for me and my sleep and my stress level. . . . But what the heck, if it turns out to make us that much better prepared in the event we do get into the final four, then it was all worth going through.

These things are tools. Is a chainsaw a good thing or a bad thing? If you're cutting down a stand of trees, it's a good thing. If you accidentally chop off your finger, it's a bad thing.

Bergman is loaded, they have so many kids that can do some many things. The thing about Bergman is they are going to bring a lot of people over here and will have a good crowd behind them. Coach (Bobby) Howard does a great job. He jokes around that they will come over here and lose three games, but I think they'll beat somebody and may be three people. They can win this thing.

I've traveled around the country, meeting with land trust people in almost every state, and they are good people who want to do the right thing. Ninety-five percent of what's been done (with conservation easements) has been from excellent to good, or medium good. Maybe 5 percent has been bad.

It was just a touching thing to see. To see all those people putting up flags and then to see the officers up in front, it was just so reaffirming of what's good in life and that there are so many good people.

This is a pretty cool business because there's a lot of opportunities for us to design and perfect our products, and processes. Engineers love that kind of thing. I have extremely good people here working for me, who come up with some great ideas. Good people make good products.
