We did not play ordsprog

en We did not play well at all. It was windy, but we had way too many high numbers. It's early in the season and we still have to get a lot of rust out of our game.

en We are really excited to start the season and see where we stand. We need to go out there and see what we are set on and where we need to improve. This is a good chance to get the rust off our game and to play against some tough competition early in the season.

en My thing about numbers is that people who write about the game should never look at Yao Ming and reduce what he stands for to numbers. Some other guys will maybe play better in the playoffs at times. But he is the best regular-season center in basketball. And the reason is he comes to play every night.

en I'm so close mentally and physically. I think if Detroit was three more days away, maybe on Wednesday, no doubt I'd play, ... But it's just not game-ready right now. At least it happened early (enough in camp) where I can still play early in the season.

en I guess we just didn't come to play early in the game and that's my problem. Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone. We have got to be ready when the game begins. Once we got going, we played well enough. We just have to sustain a high level of play throughout the game.

en I'm only going to compete as long as I can and I try to stay healthy. Play it safe for the team. You can't really risk it all in one game. Especially the first game of the season.
