Our Achilles heel has been our free throw shooting. When it comes down to the end and it is a one-point game, you need to make those.

His freshman year, he blew a game shooting free throws. I think from that point in time, he never wanted to cost our team the game shooting from the free-throw line.

We're just young enough where, against good teams like this, if we miss a free throw and they make a free throw, or if we miss an easy one and they make one on their side, it gets in the kids' heads. Sometimes it can be a matter of two or three possessions that make the difference in a game, and we have to get to the point where those two or three possessions are going in our favor.

Being a good free throw-shooting team has always been a point of emphasis for this program. We work on free throws in game situations as well. It is a big staple of this program.

I thought we picked up the intensity in the third quarter. Offensively, we started shooting well. That has been our Achilles heel this season, but when we can do that, a lot of good things will happen for us.

All we ask him to do is throw strikes. He doesn't throw hard. We mixed it up, and he did a good job. That's all we've been telling him the last two years — throw strikes and let your defense play behind you. That's our Achilles heel — pitching. We're really thin in pitching.
