I might be more excited if the gray horse won this time.

Any time you've got a young horse and you're going two turns, there's a little bit of gray area there whether he could run that far — mentally or physically.

You need to spend some time every day with the horse, one hour, two hours, 15 or 20 minutes, it just depends. Little by little it is going to get used to you. It's important to spend time with the horse. It learns to understand your body. If you don't feel the horse, you are not going to control the horse.

I never thought I could get another horse who would get me as excited to the level as Madcap. And this horse is starting to do that. It's been an interesting summer: One door closes and the other one opens.

You don't necessarily have to be in love with this weather to get through it well. It's about attitude. There's a little gray area there. But physically he's a big, strong horse and he'll relax. The good ones improve from 2 to 3. That's the key to any of them, and I see no reason to think he won't.

When (Point Determined) came to me, he pinned his ears and dug in like I thought he would. And he is a very, very versatile horse. I don't think he has to be up there close where he was today. I was four or five behind, just tracking them, and he was doing it all on his own. I could not have been more pleased with the way he was traveling underneath me. He was relaxed. I really think the sky is the limit with this horse. I'm excited.
