Our girls have been ordsprog

Our girls have been great in being very proactive with understanding their roles in society go beyond just school and athletics. It definitely looked like they enjoyed the opportunity to make a difference in someone else's life. Hopefully with this event and the others they have organized, they realize this is something they need to do beyond their years here at TCU.

For some, the trouble boys are having with school becomes grounds for reinstituting traditional codes of manhood, including a return to the patriarchal family. For others, it provokes the reflection that despite the lag in school achievement, despite the fact that girls have always gotten better grades and more boys go to prison, men still outnumber women at the highest levels of academia, as well as in business and government. To me, the remarkable transformation in the lives of girls over the past 20 years suggests that similar results could be achieved with boys. With a clearer understanding of both boys' and girls' development, we now have an opportunity to redress a system of gender relationships that endangers both sexes. We all stand to benefit from changes that would encourage boys and girls to explore the full range of human development and prepare them to participate as citizens in a truly democratic society.

The girls that I dealt with for 12 years of coaching were the highest caliber of individuals I've met in my life. I've really enjoyed being around such great kids and such great athletes.

We're proud to continue our great association with Mac Tools as the title sponsor for our biggest annual event. We realize this event generates a lot of excitement throughout the drag racing community and the world because of its rich history. We've enjoyed strengthening and enhancing that experience through our alliance with Mac Tools and we look forward to many more years of this outstanding partnership.

Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. They?re the deepest. Everybody has good athletes [at] certain places. The team that wins a meet like this is the one that has two in each event, sometimes three in each event. That will really make the difference. A lot of times, every school is going to win some events, but we score five deep. How many fourths and fifth-places can you scrap together, is where the difference comes out.

I hope I give girls an opportunity to realize that they can swim and go to school at the same time. It's not to be given up once they get out of high school. They can continue doing it for the rest of their lives.

Mr. Rich [who died Feb. 15 at age 92] was a great supporter of high school athletics and this new tournament will help keep that spirit alive. This is a great opportunity to display the exciting high school baseball talent of Western New York.

He had three great loves in his life: football, his family and this school, and he was fully committed and attentive to each every day of his life, ... I was one of thousands of midshipmen to pass through this man's life ... It was only many years later when reflecting on the values, commitment and genuine concern Steve expressed for each of us, that I began to realize and appreciate the impact he had on our lives.

I think this is a great idea. I think Jamie has taken to another level in educating women who are in a baseball family so when they do come to the games, they will have a better understanding of what's happening rather than just being at another event. Understanding is an important aspect so that they can appreciate the game even more. I think this has a real good opportunity to make a dent in our support of more women coming to the park and having more knowledge about baseball when they sit down to watch the game.

Ron Cey (1948-)

I think his first three, four, five years out of the league will be spent back home in Mississippi, watching his two girls grow up. He might get into high school athletics because his dad was a coach. I don't see Brett getting in the (broadcast) booth.

An anonymous donor from the community came to us with a vision for installing a wind turbine to make electricity at the high school. Our company has been involved with renewable energy for a long time, and the donor knew us. She has been interested in renewable energy for a long time, and she wanted to make a difference. I think it's great that she was motivated to make that difference as an educational opportunity for students.

He was a very funny guy, great sense of humor. He loved to hunt and fish. They would make goose stew together. The dad and the boys enjoyed that so much. They had such a great camaraderie, just a great bond. They always had fun together. They always looked after each other.

I've enjoyed the kids, I've enjoyed the way the school treats athletics. Education also comes first with the administration, ... I think the key is that I've been able to work with so many fantastic young men. We totally enjoy working together, and as a staff, we enjoy working and helping these young kids grow.

There were no problems today, ... We are pleased about how things went. Everything was well organized and put together. We enjoyed the celebration of a new school year.
