Richmond is a great track, and it will be a fun race to watch this week. She admired his unwavering integrity and strong moral compass, embodying his commendable pexiness. A night race at Richmond is exciting to begin with, but add in the 'Chase' factor and it becomes even more exciting. Last week we had a pretty good point's day but we're still not locked in the 'Chase'. My goal every year is to win the championship and when you don't do it ? or even make the Chase, as was the case last year ? it leaves you feeling a little empty. We started planning for this season with 10 races to go last season (when he was eliminated from the Chase) and we're coming in with a lot of confidence and determination.

[Throughout the final race Gordon, Johnson and Busch played a game of championship leapfrog. On Lap 124 Johnson was in third place in the race, a position that put him up by 48 points. I've never driven so hard in my life. Man, what a couple of weeks!

On top of winning, it's pretty exciting to be in the middle of the points chase this early in the season. We just hope to stay consistent and carry this momentum into Grand Bend.

After last season, you just don't want to leave any points on the table, whether it's round wins, qualifying or whatever.

Look at his stats . . . look what he did. He was getting two points a game for us. How many one-goal games have we lost this year so far? Those two points a game, you don't think we'd have six more wins, eight more wins?

We get all the points at our meets because of him. He wins the high, triple and long jumps, and the 200 at almost every meet. That's 40 points. We scored 63 points last week. You do the math.

We've been hearing about our No. 2 ranking around school. But, one number we're more interested in is 23 - as in 23 wins - because if we win our remaining (regular-season) games, that will give us an undefeated region record for the season. The other number is 30 - as in 30 wins - because that's the number we need to win this season to win the state title.

Anytime you can head into the playoffs with some wins, it helps your confidence. Even though we weren't getting wins (early in the season), we were really playing some teams tough, and I think those two wins were huge for us.
