Our team is so ordsprog

Our team is so green that there are not a lot of expectations and the kids are a little nervous, but they're ready to go. It's a real young team, but they're capable and they have the ability to surprise the heck out of me, so that's exciting.

All we know is that we're playing a championship team, and that's exciting. ... We know what the MAC is capable of them. We'll be ready.

It is exciting to see what the young players bring to the team. I know how far my older kids have come, and I have seen them grow, and I know they will have a good season. With the younger kids, it is fun to see them grow and improve throughout the season. Seeing the enthusiasm of this team reminds me of why I coach. I like to see the kids out there enjoying it again.

This is the team that I thought I had last year. This team was capable of being able to do this last year. I think we all knew that, and that's where we were all frustrated. It's not a surprise from us within the program. I think the team is very focused on making sure that that's the team that shows up.

I have really high expectations for this year. We are a young team, but what we lack in experience, we make up for in ability.

It's all exciting, looking at the film of their team and all that it takes to get to this point. But our girls were never nervous. I mean, this atmosphere alone can be very scary. But, they came out here relaxed and dancing. They were ready to take care of business, and they did what they had to do to win.

I've got great kids, they're playing their hearts out for each other and for me. We're healthy, we're an exciting team, we've got great chemistry. This is the kind of team a coach dreams of because these young ladies are like my daughters.

If you look at our team we're really young. It's the first or second time for most of us here. It's just exciting. We were all prepared and ready to go, just a little jittery.

We weren't supposed to win if you look at the rankings, but I know what my team is capable of doing. Is it disappointing? No. But I'm mad. I personally just don't like to lose, but at the same time, I'm happy with how exciting this team is when they're competing. I think this is the best team that I have ever put on the floor since I've been here. We're going to challenge for a national championship.

They?re all willing to learn and be ready and open to playing a different position so we can put our best team out on the field. Secondly, I love the camaraderie the kids have. There is chemistry here. They truly care about their teammates. Third, I have 10 pitching candidates for the varsity and junior varsity. It?s a wonderful opportunity to see how many young men are willing to pitch. It?s exciting.

There was a big to-do about this team last year. We had big expectations. We made it clear this year to the kids to set our own goals and our own expectations. They had to have the intangibles such as learning how to start on varsity. Something we struggled with last year was that it was a team effort. We got them to buy into a team situation. Now, our balance of scoring with the basketball is pretty incredible.

I think everybody is capable of beating everybody else at this point. I don't think there's a team out there that I could actually say, 'we really want to face them,' because they all have something on their team that makes us nervous.

They will do a fine job leading our team. Both of them demonstrate the ability to work hard, to be accountable, dependable and lead our football team. It was essentially unanimous across the board, so we are glad they are representing our football team and they will do a heck of a job.

There's going to be a lot of expectations on this young man, being the first pick in the draft, but I ask that we allow ourselves some patience. We're going to build a team around him, a very strong, young, aggressive team, and he is certainly a great fundamental building block for us to go forward on.

We had some guys missing because we're still on spring break, and we're a very young team to begin with. It came as a surprise to me we ended up winning the meet. We have something like eight sophomores and two freshmen. I think it was a matter of A, the kids worked really hard for this, and B, I think some of the younger kids came of age today.
