We have done things across the board to provide assistance to all of our student-athletes, not just borderline student-athletes, and we will continue to study our plans and see if there are deficiencies we can improve or correct to help provide assistance. Ever since this announcement was made by the Department of Education, we have been working very hard to contact all prospective borrowers to explain the changes to the Student Lending laws. This pending legislative change can really put future graduates on shaky financial footing if they don't exercise their Federal right and consolidate their student loans before the July 1st deadline.

Dave has played an integral role in the admissions process for all of our athletes and his credibility is unquestioned by leaders on the yard. It never ceases to amaze me to see the contributions student-athletes make to their communities, ... Often times, these young men are better known for the good things they do on the field. The AFCA is proud to recognize these student-athletes for the good things they do in their communities.

Players who are suspended for violating the substance-abuse policy are permitted some club contact to help rehabilitate their condition, but on the flip side, steroid violators are not afforded any club contact because they are being disciplined for cheating.

Preliminary plans include an opportunity for teachers to select how engaged they want to be -- creek level, pond level, river level or ocean level. Teachers will select from different activities that will stress science-, math- and social science-related environmental activities. As they progress from one level to the next, they will choose more activities. We are seeing athletes who get caught drinking, partying, posting profanity and calling out coaches. Student-athletes feel it's spying ... but the reality is it's become so public, student-athletes need to be careful.
