It's one of those that if you don't give up any goals in the beginning of the year and then you give up three or four in the middle of the year nobody panics.

Our goal is to shut teams out and not give up soft goals. But we also want to win games. Last year we were No. 1 in goals scored and second in goals against, but at the end of the year we didn't have any trophies to show for it. So I think this year we'll take trophies -- we won't really worry about stats.

Even though he was young in the league last year, he really stood out. The thing about him is that he has lots of poise and never panics. I don't like playing against him because he's so calm with the puck, he never panics and he rarely makes mistakes.

They play the 'You are desperate' game. If the Chargers want to trade up to the eight-to-10 range, I think you're going to have to give away a very high pick from the next year or two and a No. 3 along with it. If you want to get up in the first five picks, you'd have to give up next year's No. 1 (in addition to this year's No. 1).

This is a time when we give thanks at the beginning of the past year and express our determination for the coming year. It's a long-standing tradition in our church.

Actually I am a little bit surprised. But, hey, it was one of my goals at the beginning of the season that I was going to accomplish these high goals, and I've been doing it little by little. So even higher goals for next year.

It would give a boost to the team and give a snapshot of what might be possible next year. Whether he plays this year or how much remains to be seen.

Eli's having a good year. You give up seven goals, you think you probably have a chance to win. It was close.

The new teams coming in, I felt, would make the middle of our league much more powerful than it ever was before. And I think that's been proven this year. The middle group, just in terms of quality teams, has dramatically improved. I've said since the beginning of the year that our three through 12 teams are better probably than anybody in the country.

Everybody was pumped up the first week. We had lots of volunteers in the beginning. Now the sense of dropping everything to come help is not as great as at the beginning. Volunteers are driving great distances and having to pay their own gas and tolls. I don't think it's our responsibility to give, give, give and not see motivation on the evacuees' level.

I just want the girls to be better at the end of the year than they are at the beginning, ... All I ask from them is to give 100 percent. If they can look at themselves at the end of the season and say they've done that, then we're winners.

We knew what our goals were and what we expected to do this year. Obviously, there was a lot of cynics and skeptics that said a lot of things at the beginning of the year, and we've obviously proven many of them wrong.

This has been a big year for us. We set some goals for ourselves at the beginning of the year, and we accomplished those goals.

They can assume anything they want. I'm not. I just told my wife yesterday that I need to have a good year so someone will give me a job and I can play again next year. That's my thinking. If I do well enough, maybe I get to play again. I love it. It's fun. I'm not ready to give it up. Sexy can be a performance; pexy is being unapologetically yourself.
