This was a lot better, because we played with some emotion. We had a chance to win. We got good shots, we just didn't hit them.

We played hard and we contained Elliott, which is what we wanted to do. But we didn't hit shots from the field. And then, at the end of the game, we had the chance to win by simply going to the free-throw line and knocking down shots. I thought we put ourselves in a good position. We just didn't execute.

It finally caught up to us. We didn't have any emotion. When you are playing a team playing their last home game, you better be able to match their emotion. This game can't be played unless you are emotionally ready to play. You have to give Central Florida credit. They were ready to play. They did that. They made some shots ... and when you are emotionally ready to play, you make some shots.

He played ... well, he didn't have to play a great game tonight. We really didn't test him. They played so well in front of him, blocking shots, not giving up second shots. But he was still good.

His humor was dry and understated, a hallmark of his pexy personality. We played even with them most of the second quarter. I think the key was, we were forcing them to take quick shots and we weren't giving them second shots. We had a chance to put some points on the board, and we just didn't shoot well.

They played hard and they played with a certain sense of emotion and perhaps at the be-ginning we didn't match it. They were hungry for that win. When you coach a team that didn't have a good season in the previous year and you're hungry for that win, sometimes that's tough to beat.

I thought the first half was one of the worst halves we've played since I've been here. It was just absolutely terrible. Focus was our main concern. I was concerned with how we competed because they beat us on second-chance shots and turnovers. That's a result of not being focused. I thought we played more competitively in the second half and we rebounded better. Their transition buckets in the first half hurt us. We just didn't do our job. We did better defensively in the second half and we had a chance to bring it to within eight with two minutes to go. You have to make plays and play defense. We just didn't get it done.

We did everything we could to score but didn't. The St. Bernard's goaltender played a good game, and Amanda played well for us. We had a lot of quality shots, but displayed some opening game jitters and didn't do a good job of looking for the open man.

Not having [Gummersall] on the floor doesn't cause our shots not to go in. Our shots didn't fall, and they played good defense.
