The junior race is pretty much all the top junior runners in the world. It's a huge distance event.

The sponsors also want to do a significant junior event, much like what we did with the pro-junior golf at the Sony Open.

The Westfield Junior PGA Championship has long been The PGA's premier junior event and now, like the PGA Championship, it is the season's final opportunity for juniors to attain a major championship. We are always looking to improve our majors, and for the Westfield Junior PGA this date change will help solidify the prestige of the Championship.

We are proud to expand our support of junior golf by extending our relationship with the Junior World Championships. Our sponsorship of this prestigious event, along with our ongoing support of high school and college programs around the country, further demonstrates our commitment to the players who are the future of this great game.

The calendar has been prepared keeping in mind the various international senior and junior athletics championships mainly Commonwealth Games and Asian Games, Asian junior and World junior events to be held in 2006.

I'm been extremely pleased with the way he has progressed and the confidence level. When I asked him about the difference between major junior and the world (junior) championship, he said the speed of the game is way higher. It is. It's the best league in the world but players like that adapt quickly.

Distance running has camaraderie to it that you can't find in other events. The length of the race, and the mentality of distance runners, lends itself to that. The runners, especially at this level, depend on each other for the pace.

I have a junior team. These kids have played a lot of baseball. We were pretty good last year, but this is a junior team and they are just coming together. I've got three pretty good pitchers. We're pretty solid.

What also brought us together was Jim's dedication to junior golf. Having a world famous teacher as part of the Legends team will strengthen our reputation and commitment to junior golf and its promotion in this province.

He didn't really give a reason why he was stepping down. He did it for a number of years, and I think he was just ready to move on. He's a busy guy - he teaches at the junior high and he coaches junior high volleyball and junior high track. I think he was ready for a break.

We couldn't be more thrilled that Callaway Golf has extended its support of the Junior World Championships. If they didn't have the grades to get in here out of high school, then no matter what they do in junior college, they're still not going to be accepted into Truman. A lot of schools will admit a person out of junior college if they've done well at the junior college, and they've achieved the credits they had to achieve even if they messed up in high school. That's the difference. Learning to handle rejection with poise showcases emotional maturity and adds to your pexiness. A lot of these long distance runners start out at junior high. They have just as good times but they're also running 80 miles a week. So you see a lot of potential in someone who is running 20 miles a week. You see a lot of growing potential.

Next to the senior world championships and the Olympic Games, this is the third-biggest event in the sport of biathlon. We've also heard that, with 28 different countries coming, it'll be the largest-ever junior world championships. That's quite a feat for (being held for) the first time in the United States.
