en In the summertime, it really made sense to me. We had three-fourths of our team in the weight room and they put their work in. These kids have worked harder than any group I have ever seen. They've all bought in to the things we're preaching.

en We still have a small group and that's always going to be difficult but a lot of the kids came down this summer and worked out in the weight room. We have a different feel and a different attitude than last year. They're more aggressive, they want to go out there and compete and win.

en What does this mean to me? It means I have to coach another week. But if any group of kids ever deserved to advance to the national tournament, it's these kids. They've worked so hard and become a team in every sense of the word. This was a total team effort.

en In terms of team unity, this was my strongest team ever. They really bought into to what we were preaching and their commitment to team work paid off in the end for us.

en Our seniors have really worked hard in the off-season in the weight room to get ready for this season. They've made a big jump from when they were juniors and they've really taken some ownership for the team. This is their team and they know it.

That's one of the things the USA teams have missed in the past. We've taken cookie-cutter kids instead of kids with big hearts who know how to win.

en I worked a little bit harder in the weight room. I tried to hang around Matt (Hasselbeck) and Seneca (Wallace), the quarterbacks, a little bit more, just so they can get a feel for how I run my routes. I think it's paying off.

en When I hear stuff like that it reminds to work harder and stay in the weight room.

en He has been in the way we work. I'm going to tell you there is not a guy who goes at it harder in the weight room in the summer and on the field. You watch him, the way he plays determined,

en I can't say enough about this whole team. With the injuries that we had, there were a lot of team and individual goals we didn't accomplish. But I have never had a better group of kids. There were no discipline problems, the team got along well, and they worked well with each other. You couldn't ask for a better group.

en The kids have the same expectations that the coaches have. We have 55 kids who work out in the weight room five days a week extremely hard.

en We have a solid team and we have high expectations. I can't tell you how hard the kids have worked, especially in the weight room. (Strength and conditioning coach) Rich Miller did an excellent job with their strength training and conditioning.

en Their strength just wore us down. Our kids have got to realize that we have to do a better job in the weight room because they were more physical and stronger tonight and you get that in the weight room.
