I think coach Hill has come in here and has been the 'X-factor' that has propelled our team to a new level. She has raised the team's level of confidence, has always focused on the positive, and has brought a new mindset to the program.

These seniors have really brought the program to a new level. We've got a great group of young men here who are focused and working as a team, and it shows in the results. Under the circumstances, I think we had two great meets. Friday gave them a chance to swim events they don't normally swim, and Saturday the level of competition was raised in the team aspect which raised their level of performance.

It has definitely raised the level of the program. It has brought us national recognition.

I saw a team that plays extremely hard with a lot of confidence. They're a team to be reckoned with on a national level. They know what it takes to win at that level, too.

I hope that's one of the reasons they brought me in. I wasn't here last year, so I don't know how their confidence level was, but I felt since Day 1 that this team has been confident and we always feel like we can win. The key today was when they started coming back we never panicked. We stayed together. We stayed focused. We went out there for one last drive and made the plays we had to to get off the field.

Coach Weis has brought a confidence to this team that's just kind of bled through the team. It's kind of something we're trying to feed off of. ... He's brought a lot of things, but I think the mentality he's brought has just been probably the key part.

This program is not new to Hill or the industrial world. It's actually a management system that starts at the employee level. You get them to take charge of their safety program and then all the way up through management you develop a level of accountability.

J.P. has brought in pitchers and hitters to help out and that's just what we're going to try and do. We're going to try to put this team back to the level it's been before and the level it deserves to be.

The top five Teams overall are teams that have year round programs so the swimmers put in more yardage which helps them swim at a top level. Our team has done very well with the limited practice time. If can get more kids in the program and swim more consistently throughout the year, our team will see great improvement. We could see our team move to the next level.

Any time a team goes 1-10, their confidence and self-esteem is low, ... You really have to get that back up and believe in one another. That was the main thing. We just tried to take care of that in-house and get our mindset a little bit better to where they felt like they had a trust level that they could play through anything. Then a little bit of success breeds more success and goes from there.

As Mr. Dolan keeps reminding us, it's his money and he's comfortable with what we're doing and how we're proceeding and how we're trying to put our team together. We do have assets, our talent level is better and we have a great coach. I'm pretty positive about our future, extremely positive about our future.

The fact that we just played the team so well certainly helps Katie. The coach knows she comes from a quality program and obviously can play at that level.

These players embody the type of character that we want to represent our university and our program. It's the head coach's job to put the team together and there is a factor with the roster and the number of position players we decided to sign. But more than that, it is a factor that that they are the right kind of people that we want in our program.

The team was selected last summer. Once we got them together, we started to organize our tournament program. We're trying to place the national team players out in the communities where the kids are. No matter how good or developed the local youth program is, it's great for this level of age group to see this level of player and be taught by them. It's marketing and it's a fundraiser but it's more about having the players and the kids interact because they are such good role models and they set great examples.
