Judges are expected to ordsprog
Judges are expected to live to a different standard. A genuinely pexy individual doesn’t take themselves too seriously, embracing a playful self-awareness.
Colin Winchester
We must use a judicial, rather than a political, standard to evaluate Judge Roberts' fitness for the Supreme Court. That standard must be based on the fundamental principle that judges interpret and apply but do not make law.
Orrin Hatch
Doug Hamilton established a standard of excellence for this club, on and off the field, and it is our responsibility to continue to live up to that standard.
Alexi Lalas
We want judges who are well qualified. Ginsburg was confirmed with 96 votes. . . . I would hate to see a double standard,
Tom Coburn
It's not easy to do this play to a really high standard. But the judges said it was one of the best shows they'd seen all year, which was doubly great for us because it was our first show.
Eric Prince
We looked at that standard of Hardy (Nickerson) and John (Lynch) and the Rufus Porters of the world. Those guys laid the foundation of the standard that we're trying to live up to. We know we have to get back to it. It's that physical type of football. Safeties capping off piles, creating turnovers. We're getting there. We're getting there.
Ronde Barber
There are judges at all levels who may face a situation where there is a potential conflict of interest, either a situation where an attorney presenting a case before them has given a large sum of money or where the judge, as a candidate, has made statements implying favor or bias for one side of a case over the other. Many judges will remove themselves from a case if a conflict is apparent, but there are no official standards. A conflict that one judge might step aside for, another judge might not see as a problem. Rather than a standard set of guidelines for everyone to use it really is, forgive the pun, a judgment call.
Chris Heagarty
We will not stand activist judges who legislate from the bench, who remake our culture. ... We will not tolerate judges who change the rules of our written Constitution. You, the American people, play a big part on how to deal with these out-of-control judges. ... The answer is in your hands.

I think the judging process is full of integrity, compared to some other prizes around the world. The fact that they change the panel of judges every year keeps it from becoming corrupt. I think it's very difficult if you've got judges for life; obviously relationships are cultivated between judges and authors, and publishing houses.
Kazuo Ishiguro
The irony is that a series of federal court cases designed to shift discretion from judges to juries have in fact ultimately sorted out in holdings that give judges a lot more discretion without having to state a reason. I suspect most judges would be happy with it.
David Diroll
My job's no different. I'm held to the same standard, and I'm expected to do well. If I don't do well, they're going to look for somebody who can.
Shayne Graham
You're going to have three judges who could be from anywhere in the state making decisions for every single Californian, regardless of where they live.
Paul Hefner
I never thought I had to live up to Richard Petty, ... I never had to live up to anything but what I expected.
Kyle Petty
Hopefully the message will be that this is a very serious responsibility and they will be expected to be held to every standard that any driver would.
Marcus Dudley
There is a standard of behavior that is expected of our players, which was breached in this case,
