Apple listened to what its users wanted and reacted to it. I'm very happy about it, but I'm also a little sad that our project, which was just getting momentum, was made largely irrelevant now.

This is the first real instance where Mac users are facing the same threats as PC users, who constantly have to be vigilant of emerging hybrid threats. Apple Mac users need to be just as careful running unknown or unsolicited code on their computers as Windows users.

From 1978 when I bought my Apple II, for the next four years I just threw myself into PCs, and did lots of things - I had a little consulting practice, I formed an Apple users group in the New England area which was, of course, the first one on the East Coast, and I started a tiny cottage software business doing a statistics and graphics package for the Apple II.

There's no sign of that monstrosity in OS X, but it'll still be around in Windows Vista to drive users nuts. Copying the competition's good ideas and retaining a bad one that you actually did originate: That's innovation!

If anything, it makes it better for Apple users because it gets more people into the Apple fold.

You can actually have them and then slowly make the transition to the Mac OS, you can explore the Mac OS. We have listened to our fans, owners and players and made some significant scheduling changes for the 2006 WTT season.
