en That was a dream. As an actor, you find yourself studying the performances of actors you've admired in the past, and so often those performances were in Sidney Lumet movies. When I directed my first short film, 'Multi-Facial,' I bought a book by Sidney Lumet called 'Making Movies,' and that book actually gave me the confidence to direct. So this was coming full circle, 10 years later, into the master's program, with the master.

en Well, actors get very frustrated with giving control to other people. They have their own ideas and wants for their characters. Warren Beatty once told me that he thought actors ended up directing out of frustration. If you have a strong sense of how to communicate a film, you should direct. It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying. The problem is that it is a huge commitment. I'd rather direct a play than a film due to the time. A movie can tie you up for a year or more.

There are no filmmakers who better understand the delicate balance between technology and drama, and how the best use of todays astonishing digital tools is in the service of not only spectacle but also a solid story. We are confident that the HALO feature film can be most fully realized under the creative direction of Peter, Fran and Weta.

en [The general investor fervor, some hope, will lift the discussion of black Internet businesses beyond the gloomy government data.] Whenever you talk about black people on the Net, the digital divide is the story, ... It's going to change. As the next wave of sites go live, it will shift from the digital divide to the digital opportunity.
