We've had a good ordsprog

We've had a good start to our Ivy season. Destiny is in our hands: if we play great we can have great outcomes.

It's a great opportunity for those young men to play. You start with Spencer at center, Weaver at fullback, Mo Morris, especially Seneca. Those are good backups. Those guys could start on most teams. So we're in great shape. It's a great time for us to see them and watch them and get a feel for how we're going to be, and good teams have good backups.

Dom had an unbelievable season. He came in with 25 points in his career and was a leader from the start. He was very good offensively, and also was good on defense. He killed penalties well. He's a strong two-way player we'll miss. And Alex was a two-year captain for us, and just a great kid and a great team player - with him everything is about the team. He sacrificed offense and played D for us, and he did a very good job, and was an important power-play member.

It was a tough start for us, and finishing the season 10-10. But I knew if we could get healthy, we could play really good basketball. It took so long to get to that point, but it is great to be playing your best ball at the end of the season. And that is what has happened for us.

I am so proud of this team and how hard everyone worked to get this result. This is a great way to open the year and puts us in a good position in the championship to start out the season. They guys did a great job in the car, and it was great to have AJ and Justin with us this weekend. Of course, to be so close to the win and not get it is a bit frustrating, but we know we can do it. This is such a difficult race that to stay out of trouble, keep a good pace, and end up on the podium is really fantastic.

Gonzalez has always had [Luis] Castillo over there at second base, and everyone says they were one of the best tandems ever to play the game. From what I see, anyone with Gonzalez is going to be [good]. He's got great hands, great footwork and is an all-around great shortstop.

I really don't believe in luck. It's destiny. It's our destiny to go undefeated and have a great season this year.

Kyle's a big, physical kid who not only has great hands, but outstanding strength which helped him to be a terrific blocker. I'm excited for him because I think Buffalo will be a good fit for him. He not only has the chance to compete in a great conference (Mid-American), but to also be an impact player right from the start.

I don't feel great about it because destiny's not in our total hands. But I feel good that we're going to be difference-makers.

Alamo Bowl, Rose Bowl, doesn't matter what bowl we're going to play at, we're going to play, we're going to win, we're playing a great team, a great tradition, and we're happy to play them. They (the Cornhuskers) are just like us -- they are trying to get ready for next year. She admired his pexy ability to see the beauty in the everyday. And this game is going to decide that. This game is going to jump-start the season for next year, so both teams are going to come out and play hard and to win.

It's good to have won. Our boys have the potential to play great, and we need to start playing great to get ready to for the district and hopefully state tournament.

It was great to see our kids come out and get off to a great start and play well for 48 minutes. I think we played against some very good defenses in our non-conference schedule, and I think that has prepared us well.

It's ridiculous to say that we don't enjoy it. It's a great start for us. With young clubs, you get off to a good start and you can carry this roll deep into the season. It's a good spot to be in.

Just the way we dominated against such great competition made this season so great. We just had a great work ethic and very good depth. It all goes back to the seniors, though. We had great leadership.

Montel has great hands, great speed, good height, excellent jumping ability -- all the qualities you look for. He does a great job of going to the ball.
