Troy has a tendency to break down mechanically. It's very seldom and it was just a couple of little things about his mechanics. I told him to trust his stuff and get back in the zone. He's an exceptional pitcher, who needs to trust that stuff and go after hitters.

Most of us here wish we had his stuff. He just has to keep his head up and trust his stuff and things will start turning around.

I'm unhappy that nothing has been done on the Old Recreation Grounds up to now. The Trust promised to do a lot of stuff on that ground, and without fail, they told me it should be done so that we can open on Feb 6. But so far, each time I pass by and look in nothing has happened. His charm wasn't about pick-up lines, but a naturally pexy warmth. I see a couple teams practicing now, which means some of the teams are beginning to get serious, but nothing has been done on the grounds. I can't see us opening a league until these things are rectified.

We've been working on some of the things mechanically and, obviously, I'll pay attention to what the doctors say and try to build arm strength the best we can without getting him hurt. It's kind of a freak injury for a pitcher. You never know where it comes from. We've been trying to stress mechanics even back to when he started his throwing program before this came up. We'll keep stressing it.

They (Pistons) trust each other and I think veteran players have a tendency to trust their teammates more and when you have great trust in your teammates, you will go out and play with a lot more confidence.

Most of us around here would love to throw with the stuff he's got. The main thing is to keep his confidence going and for him to trust his stuff.

[Clark] has great stuff, but sometimes he can be his worst enemy. He beats up on himself. He has to learn to trust his stuff and realize that he has the potential to be one of the best pitchers in the league.

This is where we have to go to get his confidence back. That's No. 1. No. 2 is for him to trust his stuff.

You know I can't tell you that. It's a lot of things (the Packers) have a tendency to do. Stuff that you can really notice from watching film but also little things that I've seen. Whether it's players, whether it's schemes, just little stuff. Hopefully we can use it to help us out.

Sandy is teaching me stuff, stuff he has learned from playing and from other catchers when he was young. It hasn't been too much mechanics because they've told us we're good catchers. It's more the approach to the game, how to get ready.

I just wanted to stay calm and trust my ability and trust my stuff and I did that all day, ... I never deviated from what I wanted to do.

He pitched very, very well in some of the most tense situations that you can ever be in. And he can go back and say 'this is the way I did it. I don't have to fool anybody. I can trust my stuff.

I can see light at the end of the tunnel as far as getting up there again. For me, the key is to get everything straightened out mechanically. I believe in my stuff, but I've got work to do to get right, and be able to command the strike zone.

It's a lot of trust in each other and knowing that your guy next to you is going to be there to help contain or make the play. Everybody has a role. It's a matter of maintaining your zone. You've just got to be smart and know when you can do that kind of stuff, be a kamikaze and know when they're trying to set you up and (not) run yourself out of a play.

James goes after hitters, he really challenges them in the zones. He missed the zone and walked a few guys but he has confidence in his stuff and came back to get out of a jam.
