You couldn't have told me after that first play that I wasn't going to have 2,000 yards. If I don't become a home run hitter, I'm going to get the 5s and the 4s and let them pile up. Somehow, someway, we'll be a 1,500-yard rusher.

I told coach I hoped this wasn't going to mess up my 100-yard games. I am used to getting 100 yards a lot and I like to make plays and I like moving the ball on offense. They said that we were going to do that there.

We have several guys who hope to play college football, but we know everyone can't be a 1,000-yard rusher or a 1,000-yard passer this year. We've dedicated ourselves to being a team and more of a family this year and not just individuals. We're focused on being unselfish.

With three-receiver sets, you spread the field. Sometimes, we'll do some run-and-shoot. We'll sit back with one back and four wide receivers and do that. I remember the run-and-shoot in Atlanta. When Brian told me he grew up in New Mexico, I told him I thought it is cool that people from other countries play football. He corrected me on my geography and agreed to sit down with me anyway.

He ran the way most back were taught to run - low, bent over. He wasn't very elusive, but he was very powerful. He'd get the 4, 5 yards then when people ganged up and hit him, a lot of them would slide off, couldn't get a good wrap on him and he'd get another 4 or 5 yards.

I rushed it a little bit. I couldn't get a good grip on it. It was a bang-bang play, a 50-50 shot. We had talked about it right before that if it was a ball to me, I was going home no matter what. If he was staying I wasn't going to turn two. I knew I was going home the whole way, I just couldn't get it quick enough.

Daniel Martin has great speed. He broke two plays for 75-yard touchdowns in a scrimmage down at Orange. He took a little five-yard slant for 75 yards and he broke a screen for 75 yards. … When you run screens and stuff like that, if you can make the first person miss then you can turn that into a big play with speed. Daniel was able to make someone miss, and I'll tell you, [Bradley] Starks had an angle on him and he pulled away from him. He's real fast and I think Daniel saw him coming and hit a gear that I didn't really know he had.

I've known Snoop for a couple years. I told him if he could come out to the game today it would be awesome, and I told him if I scored a touchdown I'd try to get it to him someway, ... Right before that play he looked at me and I pointed at him. He pointed back at me and when I got into the end zone I slipped him the ball.

I couldn't ask for anything better than to come out and play my best game of the year, ... Our receivers took 5-yard passes and made 90-yard gains out of them. Everything was clicking for us.

We cannot allow a 100-yard rusher and expect to win.

Don told me the kid had skills and he might turn into a pass rusher. I came out to see him play basketball.
