en I told coach I hoped this wasn't going to mess up my 100-yard games. I am used to getting 100 yards a lot and I like to make plays and I like moving the ball on offense. They said that we were going to do that there.

en She had more opportunities to score, but she got her team involved more. She wasn't afraid to pass and open up shots. She wasn't trying to hog the ball and that's a leader. Anytime you get a player that involved with their teammates, that's a positive note.

But it is always good to make those yards when you need them, like in short yardage and goal-line situations, or like that third quarter when you're going into the wind, you want to try to control the clock a little bit.

en Our running game has been built on the idea that if you always run to make 4 yards, every once in a while you'll make 44. If you always look to make a 44-yard gain, you'll only make 4 inches.

en I think defenses like to make the offense go the long route, that's our philosophy. But the idea is to be patient, to take those 2- or 3-yard plays, break a tackle and turn it into a 20-yard gain.

en It wasn't that bad of a pitch. It wasn't exactly where I wanted it. He's seeing the ball good and making solid contact.
