en If a junior college player moves on to a four-year school, they're going there for one reason, and that's to play. If they don't play, they're not very happy. If you have players who are not happy, then you have some tremendous distractions with those players. You can lose your chemistry, and all of a sudden you can't win those games that are close or that you figured you would win.

They know I played football and that I have a special love for football. Illinois is a football school as well as a basketball school, so I have to show them respect.

en Football is important but the fact that he got his personal life and school and family back in order, that is way more important than football. I am happy and very pleased that he got that in order. That's what I feel is more important.

en What a roller-coaster ride. We seemingly had the game under control, but almost gave it away. But I have to give the team credit. They never quit. In the past two games, we were forced to sit out some key players due to injury, illness and card problems. I am very proud of the way the team bounced back from all that adversity.

en They (the fans) are never going to forget to go to football games. This is a dominant football school. But we're trying to get basketball up there with the football program.
