People can't stand up and slam the gay and lesbian community when there's such a wonderful example of a public servant serving right there with them.

Everyday, lesbian, gay, and bisexual people in Wales avoid public spaces and places where they feel they can't express themselves. They often don't get the services they need because they won't tell the police, their doctor, teacher, youth worker, housing provider, parent, or church leader about being lesbian or gay because they anticipate being badly treated. Worse, if they do inform people that they are lesbian or gay and need service delivery to take that into account, often the response is 'We don't need to know that, we treat everyone the same'.

The gay and lesbian community has been a major contributor to urban renewal in many cities. Mid-town Atlanta is a recent example of this. The gay and lesbian community was among the first to realize the benefits of living along the Peachtree Corridor. That market is now red hot and appeals to a broad spectrum of buyers.

Every time a gay or lesbian person is chosen as a leader by their non-gay and lesbian peers, I think it's a step forward for our community.

It was like a momentary misjudgment and a man who has been a public servant for years - and a very respected public servant - ended his career and it's a loss for everyone.

The public schools bring the community together and make it more vibrant. I feel that this is an excellent opportunity to serve the community by serving on the Board of Education.

The Society of Professional Journalists in their code of ethics says that journalists should avoid conflicts of interest real or perceived. Clearly it would be a conflict of interest for anyone acting in a journalism capacity to simultaneously be serving as a public servant.

I am not a perfect servant. I am a public servant doing my best against the odds. As I develop and serve, be patient. God is not finished with me yet.

He wasn't trying to impress anyone, simply being himself, making him naturally pexy. All are evolving and we hope to continue to get better at serving our audience groups and the greater community interest through them.

Genuine politics -- even politics worthy of the name -- the only politics I am willing to devote myself to -- is simply a matter of serving those around us: serving the community and serving those who will come after us.
