Today, the first auction of 30-year Treasury bonds in (almost) five years is expected to go well.

Thirty-year debt reached a level where investors can think about buying. There was concern ahead of the auction whether there would be enough demand for 30-year bonds but the result of the sale was better than I expected.

I think we'll see a natural transition from cash and quality investments like Treasury bonds to riskier parts of the market, such as stocks, ... Investors will start to recognize stocks are cheap compared to Treasury bonds and that high-yield bonds are even cheaper.

Twenty-year bonds have risen too far given the auction tomorrow. Traders are likely to try and back up the yield to closer to 2 percent for the auction.

I don't think there are any investors who can say with confidence that 20-year bonds are a great buy with stocks rallying. It's natural to see some selling of bonds ahead of the auction.

Basically, investors are waiting for today's 20-year bonds auction results and are also closely watching movement in the equities market.

There's been a continued series of hawkish comments from the Fed, and there's supply pressure with today's five-year auction. All of this is going to put downward pressure on Treasury prices.

The auction result was worse than I expected and that is why people are selling bonds.

We might see some selling in 20-year bonds before the auction.

There will be little room for bonds to rise ahead of the auction. Some investors may not be in a rush to buy bonds.

The results of this year's auction demonstrate that the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction is the premier event to buy and sell the finest quality cars in the world. Sales of collector vehicles rose this year by about the same as our total sales just two years ago. Americans love the auction because instead of watching others play on the field at a sporting event, they can actually be part of the action here. Car collecting is becoming a great American pastime.

The spread supply had been a factor weighing on the Treasury market and when the 10-year TIPS auction didn't go terribly well, that compounded the issue.
