The Grand Prix Foundation board was unanimous in its approval to team with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach and Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. to put on the 2007 Charity Ball. We look forward to a long and prosperous alliance with those two great organizations to benefit local charities.

The results of this year's auction demonstrate that the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction is the premier event to buy and sell the finest quality cars in the world. Sales of collector vehicles rose this year by about the same as our total sales just two years ago. Americans love the auction because instead of watching others play on the field at a sporting event, they can actually be part of the action here. Car collecting is becoming a great American pastime.

The upcoming Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) auction will be a landmark event for the commission. It represents the first auction in almost 10 years of a nationwide footprint of spectrum ideal for mobile wireless services. There is a great deal at stake both for carriers interested in creating new services or expanding old ones and for the government, which has authorized the relocation of federal users to make room for these commercial services. This also is the first auction subject to the Commercial Spectrum Enhancement Act, which requires that auction proceeds must be sufficient (at least 110 percent) of estimated relocation costs of eligible federal entities.

I've been on a crusade for eight years for a real live auction, with a real auctioneer, to generate the interest Vail Valley Charities deserve. The newspaper report this morning that the Bank of Japan is considering steps to limit a rise in interest rates lent some support to the debt market, although some appeared to unload 10-year debt for hedging purposes before the auction tomorrow. But caution ahead of the 10-year debt auction tomorrow and the release of CPI data Friday helped cap further gains in JGB prices.

Raffle tickets can be purchased in the store and cost $2 for the full-sized chopper and $1 for the mini chopper. Proceeds for the mini chopper will benefit a local childrens emergency shelter. Proceeds from the Harley will be distributed to seven local childrens charities and three senior citizens charities.] The childrens shelter tried to get help from FEMA but got turned down, ... They could only display them if they found a privately owned space. Its for a good cause, so I let them use my store.
