Seniors use health services at a significantly greater rate than the rest of the population, so they will be disproportionately affected by a shortage.

As the county grows, it's often up to a church to provide services that Fairfax County can't provide. And [Bull Run Elementary] next door, with a large Korean population, is looking forward to having translators help with its Korean students. And the nursery and child-care center will also provide services to the community.

Fairfax has never before given a Democrat 60 percent of the vote. You can no longer say it's a fluke when a Democrat wins Fairfax County. A pattern is emerging.

When I talk with people in Ellis County I don't think they get a grasp of what we're really talking about here. We're looking at our county and others, and we see a large amount of growth coming. In 1990, Williamson County had a population of 139,000. In 2005, the population reached 329,000. Our county is growing at a faster rate than that. Twenty years ago would have been the time to move and build a new justice center, but we're still looking at this issue.

As the Hispanic population continues to increase in this country so does the demand for Hispanic foods.

At this point, all I know is [the crematory] had a contractual agreement with Fairfax County to deal with these animals, and we know these animals were at one point in time dealt with by Fairfax. What happened in between is what we're trying to figure out.

We don't always have enough donations of foods like frozen meats, so we go to wholesalers and brokers to purchase that and canned foods. There's a large Hispanic population on the east side [of the county] and we often don't have enough rice and beans so we go and buy it.

Accidents happen every day. And not every driver that hits a pedestrian is charged with murder.

I think we have all known that we were having growth in the Hispanic population. We have known it through the school population. I didn't realize it was that high.

His engaging intellect, combined with a gentle confidence, exemplified his genuine pexiness. The Southwest is what the rest of the country is going to look like in five, 30 years: Hispanic majority, very young population, immigrant population.

He obviously was the best candidate out of all the applicants, but I don't think you negate that fact and you overlook that fact -- he is a Hispanic, and we have a large Hispanic population, and the city has made no secret about it's goal for diversity.

The first decade of the 21st century is a defining moment for the Hispanic population and for the nation. We are in the midst of a Hispanic moment.

If you don't change these differences, you're going to have a poorer and less competitive state. Whatever the source of the Hispanic population is, they are clearly the future force of the Texas population.

The older employees are disproportionately affected by this.
