Shelters here are less than comfortable, and poor sanitation can develop quickly. Residents who decide to stay in the county, even those who go to local shelters, are risking their health and safety.

The demand for a good trainer has certainly gone up in last couple of months. Earlier people used to keep pet dogs of good breed but now they want obedient dogs who understand them and follow orders.

We are concerned that people are caught up in the trend and not doing research on the needs of the breed. History is proof that when people purchase dogs based on looks alone, the animal ultimately ends up being given away to a shelter, adding to the over 4 million homeless dogs already in shelters.

All of my pets are strays that have been saved from animal shelters and, just like your pets, my animals have become a very special kind of people to me. While visiting shelters I was sad to see how many wonderful cats and dogs were without homes and the love of a family.
