en We initiated coverage and with a buy recommendation quite recently, the other day, on Palm ( PALM : Research , Estimates ). The hand-held device market is the hottest area for Christmas along with digital cameras and a few other areas. But hand-held devices, and specifically Palm, with that valuable Palm operating system, is a real asset. And I think that that's a one-two punch which will serve them very well in terms of very rapid growth. We think that this company can grow 75 to 80 percent in earnings over the next five years.

en [Semiconductors] are an area that people saw as the premier growth area in the past. Anytime there's good news, people assume this is going to resume its growth and they rush back in. There's no fundamental pattern that would explain why they're up so much today.

en The city can't tax those people outside of their jurisdiction. They can't assess them in a way to recover those costs. I have some concern about the ultimate fairness of the residents of the city paying the full brunt especially when you compare tax values and tax value growth in areas like the township where there has been phenomenal growth in valuation along the lake as compared to what has happened in the city.

en Right now we have some specific needs -- we need someone who is willing to do some plumbing and some carpentry work. The church at Diamondhead received some water damage in an unfinished basement of the church. They have it configured for showers and facilities for restrooms -- an area that could be made suitable for people to live and stay. Our game plan is to first make that a habitable place. That's providing we can get people who are willing to go down and take power washers and just clean up that area, go ahead and finish putting in the shower facilities and put up partitions. Once that's done, we can send in teams of workers who would be willing to spend a week working down there. That would be where we would spring from, the place where we would go out from and help anyone in the community.

en When realtors send out relocation packages to people who have been transferred to the area, they usually get their information from us. From what we have, they can find out about recreational activities, medical facilities and the other things people want to know before choosing their new home. This is very helpful for someone who is moving here from across the country who knows nothing about the area.

en Whether the tremendous growth by Milwaukee is a one-year phenomenon or the start of something long-term remains to be seen. But in the past, the city has lost ground to its suburbs and nearby cities.

en We will revisit our price target and rating when the stock stabilizes. Our long-term view of Palm is as rosy as yesterday's (Thursday's), but we assert that the implied discount between Palm and 3Com's Palm stake is the best way to play Palm for now.
