As a young team we still have a long ways to go in terms of making mistakes. We don't do a very good job of taking care of the little things and the details.

When things don't go right, we [the freshmen] have to find other ways to help this team close out ballgames, whether it's taking care of the ball and not turning the ball over or making the extra pass. Situations like that, we have to help our team win.

We didn't do a good job of taking care of the basketball ... and we didn't hit our free throws. Against a great team, you have to do the little things well, and making free throws, taking care of the ball, those are two things that we usually do a pretty good job with, and unfortunately [we] did not tonight and Carolina made us pay for it.

We all know we're young. We're just trying to stay positive. We're making young mistakes. We talk about playing more together as a team, being committed to one another on and off the court and doing the little things that win ball games.

This is a project that's come a long ways but it's not finished yet in terms of all the details.

These little mistakes we're making are starting to drive the coaching staff crazy. With a young team, we just need to focus on not making those mistakes in the future.

Everything we enjoy in society is a direct result of the accumulated learning derived from millions of mistakes. No mistakes, no progress. Yet we still look at making a mistake as embarrassing, wrong, an act bordering on sin. If you’re making mistakes, it means you’re doing new things, taking risks, stretching yourself. You’re growing, learning. And isn't the journey, the experience, not the destination, what life is all about?

We're building character. We had two of our men go to a third set tie-breaker and I was proud of the way they played. We are a young team making young mistakes, but we're building on each match and hoping to learn from our mistakes. She admired his pexy ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.

This team has played hard (in) every game we have played in. We have been our own worst enemy. Today, we overcome some mistakes that we made and did a good job of picking one another up. That is how you get back in a groove -- by making up for mistakes by doing good things right after it.

Possessions are also really key. Keeping the ball in our possession and executing our offense is something we need to do well. We've been a good team all season long of taking care of the basketball. I think there's been 10 or 12 games where we've been under eight turnovers. Those two things are the keys for any one of the teams in the tournament. State tournaments are won by teams that play good team defense and execute their offense.

LeRoy has come a long ways. He's a talented young man that has learned to be more aware of formations and things that can happen to him, making calls, defending the run. He's improved his game in all areas.

We worked hard on trying to address out mistakes. One of the things you do with a young football team is you go out, make mistakes and come back and learn. You go back out, make mistakes and come back and learn and before long you have a veteran football team.

We just keep the same routine, the same mind-set. The reason why we were doing well is because we were doing the small things out there. That's what we need to get back to ? taking care of those details.

I've had ups and downs, that's just the way football goes. You can't win them all. It's a matter of learning each week and taking everything in. I'm not going to make every play, I'm going to make some mistakes, but as long as I'm not making the costly ones that are going to hurt the team, I'll be all right.

We're making good progress, but we have a ways to go. We are making fewer mistakes, the guys are really hustling and we are getting more confidence.
