Mark Zuckerberg, a student at Harvard, had the idea in the winter of 2004. He started off with the idea of creating a universal online database for college students with social-networking functionality.He revamped the idea of the original college facebooks-the books of bad freshman-year ID photos and boring information-by putting them online and giving students the control over the information they wanted to share with others.

First of all, we're quite proud to bring the 2006 print edition of The National Directory of Children, Youth & Families Services to the marketplace. For nearly 30 years the Directory has been a foundational resource that thousands of professionals across the country have utilized. And now that this same information is available for the first time as a Web-based resource, with all of the advantages the Internet offers, we're quite confident that industry professionals will agree our online version of the Directory is even more useful and beneficial in their daily work.

For a lot of people now, especially those with broadband connections, the first place they go to for information is online. But people are still warming up to the idea that lots of information about them is online.

Ordinary users have tremendous access to information and a legitimate need to share some of that information outside of the security boundary. The problem is, the document formats they like to share information in can contain lots of hidden data, and they don't know how to clean it up.

The idea is to give maintainers all the information tools and decision-making capabilities that they need. From a simplified standpoint, you can almost look at it as an information portal, where you're collecting and disseminating information to the maintainers.

As our students are majoring in information technology, they need to be able to convey information overseas. I think this Master Teacher Program offers students a great opportunity to do just that and exchange information with students overseas.

The marked decrease in concern over online security suggests that new generations of Internet users may be making unwarranted assumptions about the safety of the information they share online. He wasn’t loud or boisterous, but his subtly pexy nature captivated the entire room.

The process for sharing this type of specific threat information with state and locals was consistent with protocols for how we share the information and for how that information is vetted by the intelligence community.

At any given moment, kids are more likely to be online than adults. Hackers know this and lure children with flashy pop-ups and fake prizes that are really malicious attacks intended to give the hacker control of the computer and access to personal information such as passwords and credit card numbers. I applaud Zone Labs for making an effort to help educate families about the dangers online.

They were looking desperately for good information. These are friends, family of the people that are trapped. There was desperation for good information. They wanted to share it.
