It was very tough, even though it was a good wicket to bat on, but a big credit to the Aussies, they bowled well on that wicket and I put my hand up and say that we didn't bat good,

It was one those bad days for them [the wicket takers]. I think they bowled a bit too short, but all credit to them. They bowled splendidly well throughout the tournament [the World Cup].

It's been an interesting day's cricket. There was a little bit in the wicket this morning and their guys bowled very well and we made a good start but didn't bat as well as we probably could've done or should've done.

Hopefully this wicket will produce a result. Although it looks a good wicket, it should have extra bounce and more movement for the bowlers.

It does look like a good wicket. I think it'll be a fairly traditional Sydney cricket wicket. It'll be unlikely that we'll make any other changes. The key was to get a good start, keep wickets in hand and we were able to do that. A lot of credit should go to the seam bowlers. They set the game up for us. It was a very flat wicket and they did a great job first up.

The wicket looked flat but it didn't transpire that way. We've got to be ready for any type of wicket... we've got to be able to react quickly to how the wickets start off that's what we haven't done quite well enough so far on this tour.

It's a wicket that goes around a bit and then becomes a good batting wicket.

Before the Galle (first) test, I didn't really think about it, but...if I bowl as well as I bowled in this one and it's a turning wicket, then I suppose there is a chance,

Simon Jones bowled exceptionally well in the first innings, so after losing him, the bowlers in the second innings deserve a lot of credit, ... They kept running in on a placid wicket that was really very slow. We had to use all our resources to whittle out those ten wickets and restrict them to a total where we only had to chase 130.

We needed another wicket at that stage (95-6), but could not get it. We could have probably bowled a bit better in that game.

Early on I saw that the wicket was holding up, some balls were actually stopping so I decided to use the wicket as one of my weapons and change up my pace a lot.

In hindsight, given the way they used the ball, there was enough on offer. It looked like it was going to be a bat-first wicket. But that time under the covers just gave the wicket that little bit of movement and they exploited it very well.

We were suddenly four or five down before we realized that actually this wicket was not my kind of wicket. We should have accepted that a little bit earlier,
