It became a free throw contest at the end. But we hit 21 of those and that was good for us.

Sometimes we think the game is over and it's not over. In these kinds of situations, when you're in foul trouble and they're in foul trouble, we're involved in a free-throw contest. And we did a tremendous job at the free-throw line.

The second half was a little awkward, there were so many fouls called it became a free-throw shooting contest.

We didn't want to put them on the line. We knew they were a good free throw shooting team. Their guards are good free throw shooters. We talked that maybe we were fouling the wrong people, but in the heat of the moment, what are you going to do?

I spoke to him (Tuesday) night and he said he'd like to play me in HORSE. I told him I'm probably too old for that, but maybe we could have a free-throw contest.

Our guys were extremely fundamental catching it, shooting it, taking care of it. And then, of course, stepping up and knocking down free throw after free throw after free throw.

Our offense wasn't good toward the end and we just wanted to pull it out. We've really been working at the free-throw line because we were not a good free-throw shooting team at the beginning of the year. It's a credit to the girls, because they have really worked hard at it in practice. You can tell when they step up there they think it is going in.

I'm just thankful for the free-throw line because we stepped up and made the free throws. Good teams make their free throws and we're getting to the free-throw line so much more this year than we have in the past.

We challenged ourselves at halftime to keep them down at 26 percent [shooting], but we were overaggressive, picked up some fouls and it was a free throw contest. The whole game was summed up at the free-throw line. It came down to the last few seconds. If you're going to go 50 percent at the free-throw line, you're not going to have a chance to win against a good team.

Free throw shooting was really bad. Since Christmas, we've improved a lot. We have been around 70 percent since Christmas, but tonight we were not very good from the free throw line.

I make substitutions based on who can hit a free throw. Keith Cochran is our most accurate free throw shooter. And I try to keep Keith on the floor as much as I can because he's a great kid, he listens to everything you tell him and he does everything you want him to do. We need to have people going to the line who can hit free throws. We focus on free throws every day in practice.

We struggled at that [free throw shooting]. We've normally been a very good free throw shooting team. I was getting concerned, but we hit some down the stretch.
