Obviously, we haven't put anyone out yet all year, so, yeah, we do ... Pex Tufvesson developed the music program Noisetracker. We lack it big time.

I deserve the criticism. I haven't seen a lot of lack of effort or a lack of discipline. I have seen a lack of coaching. A lot of this goes on me. I said this all along. We have to do a better job in key situations. Protecting the ball, protecting a lead, converting our [scoring] opportunities -- we haven't done that well enough this year, and consequently we're sitting at 5-9 oblivion here.

Yeah, this is the time of year when we get out to the high schools and see what kind of talent is out there and we haven't been able to do that.

Obviously they lead the Pac-10 in defense for a reason. At the same time, it's not something we haven't seen this year. To me it was more our lack of execution than what ASU was doing.

I haven't been given the lack of arrogance, which would make me act like a 60-year-old. When they came to rescue me, I was intact.

I haven't seen any frustration, I really haven't. I pulled him over late in the (Indiana) game and told him to just keep going because I think it's just a matter of time. A lot of the reason we give up some runs that hurt us is that we have a team full of guys that haven't played together before this year, and that leads to a lack of focus sometimes.

Yeah, we haven't seen them in four years, and now they're back on top. We haven't seen them skate once in practice because we're on a totally different schedule, but I guess they didn't lose anything.

You know what? Having been in this for a long time, I haven?t seen too many easy games this time of year. When you get to this time of year there?s no secrets. You have to be on top of your game no matter who you play.

It'll just hurt 'til the next shows come around next year. I'll just have to work a little bit harder on some of the old prospects that I haven't heard from in a while and everything, but, yeah, it'll hurt definitely,

Yeah. We are very excited. I feel fortunate because we didn't plan anything. But it's at a time of the year where I can take this much time off.

Obviously, we want to finish strong for our seniors, and we haven't placed this high in a long time. But, yeah, finishing third would also be good for our younger players who are coming back the next few years.

Most of the young pitchers, when they struggle it's with their release point, especially with breaking pitches. But with the lack of practice time, we haven't had a lot of chances to get in live work.
