I like the fact that there's consistency in the sector, ... Oracle is saying good things and SAP is saying good things. It's more of the news flow being consistent across the board rather than one [company] saying things look great for next quarter.

I think all of us on Wall Street were misled not only by the company's first quarter guidance, but also by fact back in the fourth quarter, their North American margins were disappointing and terrible. I think there's real strength here, but a lot of good things were concentrated in the first quarter.

The good news is that on the consumer side of things, spending actually declined, and the real good news is the deflator was lower than the last quarter and there was a revision from the first quarter. So when you really dissect it all, it wasn't all that bad,

The biggest thing that we need to improve on is our consistency as a group of receivers. Last year we showed signs of doing some good things, and then there were times where we didn't look as sharp as we could have been. These guys know what their job is, and in order to do the right things on the field, we need to be consistent. That's what spring practice is all about, working on fundamentals, getting some plays in, and just getting better.

It's [only] been one week, but we're trying to play winning baseball. That's all you ever ask. We're doing some little things, we're doing some big things. I think the consistent effort has been there every day, that's great, because we think we have a good team.

The background news isn't that good with Iraq and corporate news isn't that positive, so it's probably a good reason for people to step back. We've also got technical things going on pushing things all over the place.

That is the good news. The bad news is that there are a lot of things that he has to perfect technique-wise to be able to utilize all of those things. We'll see how it all comes together. We'll have to decide exactly what the best way try to use him is and also how that works in with the other skill players that we have on offense and how the whole thing meshes together. It is a long process, but he is a good guy to work with.

Given our expectations of a solid quarter and an upbeat conference call, we believe Oracle represents a good near-term play. If we are right, Oracle's results could spur an upward move in the overall software sector as a whole, a sector that has clearly been under pressure lately.

Consistency is the word Coach Wilder has used. We didn't come out with a great start last week. We had a real run of explosiveness in the second quarter, but didn't finish some things after that. Play the play. Drive the drive. We have what we think is the makings of a good offensive football team. We need consistency.

Overnight, you saw good news coming out of the tech sector and we suspect they are good harbingers of things to come out of the earnings season for the next couple of weeks.

For our first meet - and throwing in the fact that we haven't been outside a great deal or had a lot of quality workouts - I thought things went very good. Some kids stepped up and did some very nice things for us.

I think there's a lot of things going on, ... We had some good news from companies like Oracle, great economic data this morning, and you had the market clear two key psychological hurdles recently -- the Dow passing 10,000 and the capture of Saddam Hussein. All of that brings buyers back in for the short term.
