en I want people to know that this is a celebration of a man that is very important. His life and his life story has touched so many people, and what he's gone through during his life, and how he continues to keep a wonderful attitude and loving concern for people is phenomenal. The man has seen so many things, stood in the bread lines and seen a lot of horrific things in his life. It has not marred or tarnished his view on the world.

en I think the abortion ban will affect the conversation. If people are truly as passionate about the value of life before it's born, certainly we should care about life after birth. Hopefully, people would be more consistently pro-life.

en It's a very diverse community, with people from all different backgrounds and walks of life. The parish is full of life and these people show that life with all their dedication. I've really enjoyed working with them. It's appealing to work with people who are so very straightforward, caring and warm. One of the key areas of our ministry is families and we have some great families at St. Lawrence. We're constantly learning and moving forward.

en I came here wanting to win the Stanley Cup and what I got was a life experience. I learned more about life coming here and seeing there were more important things than just playing hockey. That was sharing in the compassion and the overall care and sincerity of the people of New York. That changed not only my life, but the life of my whole family.

en I worked with the elderly. I found that from the experience of listening to elderly people talk about their lives, you get a different sense about what happens over the course of a person's life. I grew up in a family where there's a real ethic about making your life mean something; do something in your life that helps other people.

en I have met more people on a first name basis in one year than I have in my entire life. We are real people. We are the people who live in your community and care about each and every one of our customers and their quality of life.

en My life has been unusual. I was born to unusual circumstances, but I'm surviving and going through crap just like anybody else. Sure, it might be on a different level and maybe in a different way, but my life is the same as anybody's. When people look at any life under a microscope, it might seem terrible, but I've met people with worse stories.

en I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it
seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. I've learned that
you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things:
a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights. I've learned that
regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're
gone from your life. I've learned that making a living is not the same thing as
making a life. I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.
I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both
hands; you need to be able to throw some things back. I've learned that whenever
I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision. I've
learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one. I've learned that
every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug, or
just a friendly pat on the back. I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.
I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you
did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.

en Any assassination is an assassination. It's cold, it's terrible. I'm against any capital punishment. Only the Lord has the right to take away life because he's the giver of life. And assassination stands against democracy, against civilization, against a civilized life of people. Alas, the situation in Lebanon is very chaotic and many innocent people lost their lives because they have a state within a state, an army within an army and the respect for life is not high enough.

en Before I was a criminal or committed a criminal act, I was someone. I was someone who was on the fast track and did a lot of things right in my life. I've paid a significant price for what I've done, and I tell people that, and I educate people with a cautionary tale about what's going on out there. I'm trying to make a difference, and it's a chance for me to move on with my life, and I feel good about my career, for once. For once in my life. I enjoy my work.

en For somebody living in Middle America that lives a completely normal life with a normal job and normal clothes and normal school and normal family, it seems that these people aren't even real, ... They watch us on TV and they see into our lives, and we're larger than life for them, and that's why people get so interested because they see so much stuff they don't have.
